John - MD of Flavor Paper

International Furniture Fair, press, client
Eye catching colours, colourway variation, crazy feel.
Pattern, overlays, connections, seams, marks, patterns, interconnections, buidling, break down, colour separtation.
In 5 years they have 42 patterns and custom work, all designs com ein 4 colour ways, however they will [rint any wallpaper to any colour on request.
They created an interactive wallapaper by embedding light behind them.
The buidling we visited was showroom, printroom, sales room, sales room, design space, living space
The showroom has a projector in the space to allow the wallpaper to be shown to scale (double sizes etc)
The client is invited to participate in the design process
They create 27inch strips of wallpaper - this is the size for the US - European is smaller
Sometimes they are given a brief and work to this, they create test prints for the clients
They accept submissions and CV's from people, interns taken on
Tibby has done 3 pattern with a fashion collabortaion
Integrate the designs and push to another level
Move away from traditional names and images
Wallpaper is released by season lookig at colour trends, they release one design a month
They are to run competitions with colleges - 'Flavor of the Month'
Get images out to the press whenever possible, have professional photographs taken
Take people out of their comfort zone - different perpectives - mad angles.

Dan Funderberg

Considers himself an artist who uses a variety of things as inspiration to create both fashion and interior prints. He uses pattern, ornamental, and sometimes 'wrong' objects. He is inspired by historical pattern design and wallpaper. He creates his images in Illustrator then these are applied to screens by Flavor Paper.
